Yvon R. Duquette, 79, passed away on July 31, 2023, at Central Maine Medical Center.

He was born in Chartierville P.Q. Canada, on Sept. 26, 1943, to Romeo and Irma Duquette.

On Jan. 14, 1967, Yvon married the love of his life Gilmay (Clavette) Duquette at St. Ann Church in Hartford, Conn. Connecticut is where they started their life together and raised their son Dean and daughter Stacey. He worked hard all his life as a carpenter building homes and remodeling. Yvon would lend a
hand to anyone in need. He loved to fish on Sebago Lake, deep sea fishing and hunting. He also had a passion for watching his favorite hockey team, the Montreal Canadians.

Yvon is survived by his wife of 56 years Gilmay (Clavette) Duquette, son Dean Duquette and wife Sharon of Otisfield and his daughter Stacey (Duquette) Morin and husband Ron of Alton Bay, N.H.

Yvon was blessed with five grandchildren: Cathy and husband Tavish, Matthieu and partner Sydney, Faith and husband Patrick, Danielle and Brandon. He also had five great-grandchildren: Rocco, Luna, Harlow, Otto and Lucy whom he loved very much.

Yvon was one of seven siblings. Roland Duquette and wife Simone, Lise Beauvais (predeceased) and husband Andre, Raymond Duquette and wife Jacqueline (both predeceased), Denise Duquette and wife Francoise (predeceased), Francine Duquette, and Noel Duquette and wife Suzanne. Yvon leaves behind many nieces and nephews whom he loved.

Family and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service on Saturday, Aug. 12, 2023, at 1 p.m. at Chandler Funeral Home, 8 Elm Street, Bridgton, with a time of visitation from 12-1 p.m. prior to the service.
