‘The Plot, Like Gravy, Thickens’ Cast Spotlight
Show dates: December 2, 3, at 7 p.m. and December 4, 5 at 2 p.m. in the Lake Region High School Auditorium.

What’s the Plot: Gathered on a stormy evening at Worthington Manor to celebrate Edward’s fiftieth birthday are his attractive wife, her playboy brother, Edward’s befuddled older sister, his ex-wife and his daughter, a college student. Also present are his shady lawyer and his uptight business manager with his giddy wife and southern secretary, as well as the butler, the housekeeper, the maid and the cook. Each has a motive that is barely established when the lights go out! Seconds later, they come back on to reveal that someone has been murdered. The police detective investigates and eventually allows the audience to question the suspects before the killer’s identity is revealed in a surprising climax.
Introducing Senior David DelVecchio
David is the son of Michelle and Peter DelVecchio of Bridgton. He will be playing the roles of Walter, Edward Worthington, III and Lt. James McMillan.
When asked what he enjoys about being involved in the theater, David responded, “Playing someone else is fun, sometimes.”
He has been in many shows at Lake Region High School; Noises Off, Charley’s Aunt, West Side Story and The Diary of Anne Frank and with Lake Region Community Theatre; James and the Giant Peach, Into the Woodsand The Wizard of Oz.
In the future, David plans to go to college to major in Political Science. His main goal for the future is to help people.
Introducing Senior Kathryn Rose
Kathryn is the daughter of Kathryn T. Rose of Naples. She will be playing the role of Justine Worthington.
When asked what she enjoys about being involved in the theater, Kathryn responded, “I enjoy being in a positive and accepting atmosphere where I can make memories with my friends.”
While a student at Lake Region High School, she has been in Charley’s Aunt and West Side Story and has also been on stage with Lake Region Community Theatre performing in Into the Woods, Willy Wonka and The Wizard of Oz.
In the future, Kathryn will be attending an out-of-state college to pursue her education and hopefully study abroad for some time.
Introducing Preston Phillips
Preston is from Sebago, and is the son of David Phillips and Naomi Phillips. He will be playing the role of Tony Blackwell.
When asked what he enjoys about being involved in the theater, Preston responded, “Being in theatre has allowed me to open up and connect with like-minded people. It lets people that would otherwise feel alone find a place where they can freely be themselves.”
Preston has been in The Jungle Book, Dear Edwina, Beauty and the Beast (twice), The Wizard of Oz, The Diary of Anne Frank and West Side Story.
In the future, Preston sees himself bringing similar stories like the ones seen on stage to film. Creating and bringing characters to life has always been a passion of his and becoming a film director is the way he wants to do it.
