Tami Freedman

Tami Ann Freedman, 63, passed away unexpectedly at her home in Lewiston on Monday, October 28, 2024.

Born on August 5, 1961, in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, to Martin Freedman and Enes Butts, she grew up in Hartford, Conn., and graduated from Newington High School in 1979.

Tami had a variety of jobs over the years, but she loved her most
recent job at Central Maine Medical Center and she always talked
about her many fun co-workers. She had an amazing, outgoing personality and she always brought joy and smiles everywhere she went.

Tami, “Bumma,” was known for her unwavering dedication to her family, especially her grandkids. She gave them all the care, attention, hugs and smiles one could ask for. She was always their biggest fan, clapping so loudly that it didn’t matter who wasn’t.

Tami loved family time and having barbecues, going to the beach, watching movies and listening to Motown. She had a love for coffee, cats, the color purple and singing along to her Temptations songs. She loved celebrating holidays and bringing grandkids buckets of candy and toys and was always ready to throw a party. Outside of her work and family, she enjoyed doing puzzles, and loved her cat, Ry Ry.

Tami leaves behind a large family. Her mother, whom she loved most dearly, Enes Butts from Connecticut. Her sister Stacy Brookman, and husband Tommy, from Connecticut. Her brother, Dan Moran of Colorado. Her three daughters, Katrina Crowell, her husband, Jason Crowell of Freeport, Shannon Buck and Jasmine Freedman of Lewiston. Tami also leaves be- hind many grandchildren which she adored more than anyone else. Lukis, Vivienne, and Xavier Crowell of Freeport. Nevaeh Walker and Aurora Morrow of Lewiston. Destiny and Tyler Davenport of Virginia and Dillon Tucker of Portland. She had two nieces, Megan and Sara Brookman of Farmington, Connecticut. Tami also leaves behind her best friend of 40 years, Marianne Prescott and her two kids, Matt and Renee. And the many aunts and uncles and cousins whom she loved very much.

She is preceded in death by her father, Martin Freedman and the love of her life, Lynel Moultrie.

The family welcomes all who wish to attend a memorial service in celebration of Tami Freedman’s life to be held Saturday, November 16, at the Trinity Episcopal Church, 247 Bates St., Lewiston, at 2 p.m.
