Stephen J. Morgan, 72
Stephen J. Morgan, 72, of Bridgton, died unexpectedly, Saturday, May 9, 2020 at his home in Bridgton.
He was born on Dec. 6, 1946, in Portland, a son of James J. and Dawn G. (Nevers) Morgan. He attended local schools in Sebago and graduated from Potter Academy. Steve went on to serve his country in the U.S. Army.
Upon his return from the service, he married the love of his life, Crystal L. Morgan on March 23, 1968 and have enjoyed 52 wonderful years together.
In 1969, Steve embarked on a lifetime career at Central Maine Power Company where he made numerous friendships with both co-workers and customers. He started out as a groundsman then moved to a lineman and eventually as a field engineer, retiring in 2010.
He was a loving, devoted, respected, and caring family man who was loved by so many people. He loved taking the family on many memorable vacations. Camping, fishing, smelting, gold panning and looking for artifacts were some of the many things he did to spend time with family.
Steve loved history and archeology, animals, feeding birds, ducks, turkey and deer. He loved puttering in the yard and taking walkabouts with the cat, “Spook.” His greatest pleasure was certainly time spent with his family and spoke with his two children, Shawn and Nicky every day, often putting them on speaker phone so Mom could join in.
He thought the sun rose and set by his grandchildren and took advantage of every opportunity to visit with them as well. He was over the moon about the newest addition to the family, Chase Curran who was born on Dec. 19, 2019.
He will be incredibly missed. “Love you Dad.”
Steve is loved by his wife, Crystal of Bridgton; son, Shawn Morgan and his wife, Sherry, of Bridgton and their children, Hailey Morgan of Brownfield and Jordan Morgan of Saco; a daughter, Nicole Desjardins and her husband, Dale of Bridgton, and their children Jessica Allen of Bridgton, Cody Allen of Bridgton and Chelsea Desjardins of Sanford; a great-great grandchild, Chase Curran (Hailey’s son).
