Sarah Lennox

SACO — Sarah Elizabeth “Sally” Lennox, 92, passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2017, at her daughter’s home in Hiram with her family by her side.

She was born on Nov. 16, 1924, in Howland, the daughter of Wilbur and Grace Jones Whitcomb.

Sally graduated from Bangor High School and furthered her studies at the Maine General School of Nursing. She had a long career as a nurse working at the Webber Hospital and later as an Industrial Nurse at Nike, Nichols Manufacturing and Maremont.

Sally was Past Matron of the Order of Eastern Star, Annette Chapter #184, Saco. She also enjoyed square dancing and taught round dancing for many years. Sally also loved her dogs, cats and donkeys.

She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Lennox in 1992.

She is survived by two sons, David Lennox of Scarborough and James Lennox of Old Orchard Beach; three daughters, Nancy Nicholson of Albany, N.Y., Virginia Day of Hiram and Natalie Friel of Scarborough; a brother, Ernest Whitcomb of Coral Gables, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

There will be a private family service later in the spring.

Dennett Craig & Pate Funeral Home, 365 Main Street, Saco, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
