SAD 61 Staff Spotlight, ‘K’ Bolduc
To give the public a closer look at local teachers and staff members, the SAD 61 School Board’s Liaison Committee has developed the following “Staff Spotlight” profiles.
Staff Member: “K” Bolduc
Position: Science teacher, Lake Region High School
Time working for SAD 61: 35 years
What are you most proud of doing for our school community? I am very proud of the fact that I was able to take students on environmental field trips in Canada, California, the Florida Everglades, Costa Rica, Trinidad
and Tobago, Hungary and Thailand.
Where did you graduate from? I graduated from Bates College with a bachelor’s degree in Geology and went on to receive a master’s degree in School Counseling from the University of Southern Maine. I still use the knowledge I gained from both of these programs in my everyday teaching.
When I began teaching, I wish I had known that, as the teacher, I didn’t need to know everything, and that it is possible to help students find answers on their own.
