Ryne Varney

CAPE NEDDICK – Ryne W. Varney, 39, of Cape Neddick, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on July 11, 2024 after a brief illness.

Born on April 4, 1985, he was the son of Robert Varney of Denmark and Tamra (Flagg) Warner of Vista, Calif. Ryne attended Lake Region High School and Syracuse University
and spent his career as a golf pro at various prominent courses in Chicago, New York, and New England. A loyal Chicago Cubs fan, Ryne traveled with his family each
summer as a child to see his namesake and distant cousin play second base for the team. He always approached his passions wholeheartedly, from baseball and hockey as a child, to the discovery of his true calling: golf. Ryne adored his dogs, Copper and Cali, and arguably made the best baby back ribs around.

Ryne will be dearly missed by his wife, Kit (Flynn) Varney, and her family; his father, Robert Varney, and wife Beth; his mother, Tamra Warner, and husband Tim; his sister, Erica Zaid- man, and her family; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, step-siblings, and friends.

He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, James and Margaret Flagg, and paternal grandparents, Bernard and Lois Varney.

A celebration of life will be planned for Fall. Condolences, tributes, and stories may be shared at www.hallfuneralhome.net.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to First Tee, Chive Charities, and Camp Sunshine.
