Q. What do you consider as traits that make someone a good citizen?Responsible, trustworthy, dependable and caring.
Q. Who has inspired you to be a good citizen and why? Debra Roy, an elementary school teacher at Stevens Brook has always inspired me to be a good citizen. She is able to form great connections with her students and shows me nothing about kindness and care. She is patient, kind, thoughtful and dependable, which is all qualities I strive to be. Her example helps me to remember why helping others is so important.
Q. What have you done to make the school community a better place? I have helped organize road-side cleanups on Kansas Road with my school clubs, helped form an anti-bullying/mental wellness club in the school, been a part of letter writing to give to community members, and have also made activity bags for some kids at the elementary schools in our district with other members of my ASTRA Club.
Q. Why is volunteerism important? Volunteerism is important because it allows people to give back to their community. It makes you think about things that are bigger than yourself and helps me to gain a better understanding of the world we live in.
Q. In the future, what do you see yourself doing to make the world a better place? I see myself being a teacher and helping to educate young minds. I want to make sure that our youth knows how important they are to the future of our world!
