Ross Cantin, 58

SWEDEN — Ross Cantin, 58, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his bonus family and loved ones, Rebeccah and James Forbes, Chelsea Stephens and his housemates, on Sunday, March 24, 2019.

Although fraught with challenges, Ross had a zest for life and an infectious laugh. He never allowed his challenges to stop him. He participated in a variety of adaptive sports such as downhill skiing, water skiing, biking, horseback riding, swimming, bowling and various events with Special Olympics. He also looked forward to visiting the Fryeburg Fair every fall, where he enjoyed eating at many different food vendors, shopping and watching the Woodsman’s Day events.

Ross always had a smile for his friends and would call them by names of affection: “moose” or “my girl.” He would often join friends for lunch, where he would order his favorite bacon cheeseburger!

Ross will be fondly remembered and missed by his many friends in the community and those whom he knew from the Center of Hope and Northern Human Services, both staff and his peers, alike.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Memorial Fund, New Horizons, c/o Rachel Waterhouse, 626 Eastman Road, Center Conway, NH 03813.

Visiting hours were held at Wood Funeral Home, 9 Warren Street, Fryeburg from 1 to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2. A burial and graveside service will be held at a later date at the Center Conway Cemetery.
