Ronald W. Robinson
Ronald W. Robinson passed away peacefully on June 12, 2024, at the Maine Veterans’ Home in South Paris. Born November 23, 1940, in Bridgton, to Wendall and Bessie Robinson, Ronald was raised in Bridgton and attended Bridgton schools.
While serving in the Army, he met and married his wife Odette (Bodin) Robinson in France. He left the military after eight years of service and they lived in New Jersey for several years before moving back to Bridgton. Upon
returning, he worked for the State of Maine before starting his own excavation and logging business. He suffered a bad accident which resulted in the loss of his leg. At this point he focused on his logging and firewood business.
His passions were driving his heavy equipment, making deliveries of firewood to the local campgrounds, talking about horses and westerns, and just hanging in his garage off of the Kansas Road chatting with his friends and hanging with his dog Jessie.
He was predeceased by his wife Odette, son Rick, and brother Rick.
He is survived by his sister Rowena and her husband David Marcia of Portland, his son Patrick of Middleburg, Fla., daughters Marie and her husband Robert Kushner of Kitty Hawk, N.C., and Sonya Allen of Denmark, grandsons Christopher Rand of Bridgton and Daniel Gawlik of Marina del Rey, Calif.
The family wishes to thank the staff at the Maine Veterans’ Home and Andwell Health Partners for their compassion and caring. Mr. Robinson requested that no services be held and the family asks that any donations in his memory be made to the Harvest Hills Animal Shelter in Fryeburg, Maine.
