Richard S. Rickabaugh, 57
Richard S. Rickabaugh, 57, passed away at JFK Hospital, Atlanta, Fla. on March 24, 2020.
He was born on Oct. 28, 1962, on Okinawa, Japan as his father, Reed Rickabaugh serving in the U.S. Air Force was stationed there. He attended high school and lived in New Jersey most of his life. He worked at the Bancroft School part-time and later for Konrad Beer Distributers until his health forced an early retirement after nearly 25 years.
Richard lived in his grandmother’s house in Mt. Ephraim, which he bought as a young man. He enjoyed working on his home and on his cars and going to car shows with Mike. He later bought a RV and lived in Florida, but enjoyed traveling to Maine to visit family.
He is predeceased by his brother, Reed Rickabaugh, Jr., who died one month one day after he passed away; his father, Reed K. Rickabaugh; grandparents, Frank Reed and Sara Rickabaugh, Armand and Doris Cloutier.
He is survived by his mother, Leone (Lee) Rickabaugh;
Reed Rickabaugh Jr.’s daughters Courtney Hileman and her son, Ty Michael, and Christina Rickabaugh; a sister, Kimberly Crain Lauze and her husband, Normand and their daughter, Cassandra Crain; uncles, Bob Rickabaugh and Lorraine Coyle, Armand Cloutier; aunts, Priscille Cloutier and Joan Rickabaugh; cousins, Robert and Rachel Rickabaugh and their three sons, and Armand Cloutier, Jr.; and long time best friend Mike Seltzer and Mariam and their daughter, Catherine.
A celebration of Richard’s life will be held at the same time as his brother, Reed Rickabaugh, Jr. on June 13, 2020. The viewing will be held from 11 a.m to 1 p.m. at the United Parish Congregational Church, 77 Main Street, Harrison, Maine 04040. (It may be necessary to limit how many people can come inside at one time).
A church service will be held at United Parish Congregational Church in Harrison at 1 p.m. Interment will be on the family plot at the Harrison Village Cemetery. As of present time (due to Covid-19), there probably will not be refreshments.
In lieu of flowers, his family asks you to consider making a donation in his name to a charitable organization that you hold dear.
Arrangements are in the care of Hall Funeral Home, 165 Quaker Ridge Road, Casco.
