Richard F. Cerone
AUBURN – Richard F. Cerone, 77, of Bridgton, passed away on January 10, 2024, at the Hospice House in Auburn, with his loving family by his side.
He was born October 15, 1946, in Rochester, N.Y., a son of Michael and Grace (Cammarata) Cerone. After graduating high school in 1965, he went on to college, however he was drafted into the U.S. Army during the Korean War and proudly served his country as a 76 Engineer. As well as recently being active as a member in local VFW and AMVETS organizations.
Richard worked in construction and became a master electrician and worked all around the state of California and Maine.
He married Elizabeth Shain and they spent 40 years together until her passing in 2020. Richard loved Christmas and played the real Santa for Christmas in Harrison Village and many Santa families. He was the happiest when with his family and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, Michael and Grace Cerone, his wife Elizabeth Shain, his son Richard F. Cerone Jr.
He is survived by his loving family, his children, daughter Danielle Buckley, sons Les Shain, and Paul Cerone. His grandchildren Ashley Blair, Dylan and Evan Buckley, Mason Eastman, and his great-granddaughter. He also leaves his brother Michael Cerone and his wife Carol, their sons Tony and Mark Cerone along with a plethora of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
In keeping with Richard’s wishes, all services will be at the convenience of the family in the spring, with military honors.
