FRYEBURG — TJ Rose may be a freshman, yet he is running like a seasoned veteran, giving Fryeburg Academy a third consistent scorer this fall.
“TJ has conducted himself in a varsity manner already. He practices very hard and has total commitment to the sport (of cross-country running) and the team,†Fryeburg Academy varsity cross-country running coach Bill Reilly said.
In recognition of his strong work ethic, determination, commitment and good sportsmanship, TJ is this week’s Raider Boosters Club “Player of the Week.â€
Each week, a Fryeburg Academy athlete is recognized for his/her dedication (does more than what is asked), work ethic, coachability and academic good standing. Recipients receive a specially-designed t-shirt, sponsored by the Raider Boosters Club.

Q. What do you hope to accomplish this season? TJR. Qualify for the State Meet and running a 17:25.
Q. What do you enjoy the most? TJR. The “easy†day before a race! That is when we have an easy 45-minute run.
Q. What do enjoy the least? TJR. The “Dump Road†7-mile run and the infamous hill workouts.
Q. What makes you successful? TJR. Trying hard, practice and determination have brought me to where I am.

Q. What has sports taught you? TJR. That if you work hard enough at something, it will always pay off, no matter what.
Q. What do you like most about your team? TJR. I like that my teammates are some of the most supportive people I know.
