Player of Week: Nick Scarlett
Nick Scarlett is very coachable and eager to improve in his track & field events.
“Nick added the triple jump this year to his events and had success at meets,†Lake Region Coach Mark Snow said. “He does not get down if he has a poor result in an event. Nick is able to lift the spirits of his teammates when they are down.â€
In recognition of his strong work ethic, determination, commitment and good sportsmanship, Nick is this week’s Boosters and Hancock Lumber “Player of the Week.†Each week, a Lake Region athlete is recognized for his/her dedication (does more than what is asked), work ethic, coachability and academic good standing. Recipients receive a specially-designed t-shirt, sponsored by Hancock Lumber.

NS. The best piece of advice I have learned is that the harder you work at something the better you will do – Coach Dors.
Q. Who is your biggest fan?
NS. My mom is my biggest fan because she supports me in whatever I do. She takes time off work to watch my games.

NS. I know I have had a good sports day when I know I have given it my all, and have accomplished my goals.
Q. What is your favorite sport?
NS. My favorite sport would be track because I like the people on my team and the meets are a lot of fun to participate in.
Q. If I could change one thing about myself as an athlete, I would change…
NS. I would focus on the events that I excel in.
Q. What qualities make for a good teammate and who do you consider a good teammate?
NS. Qualities that make a good teammate are hard work, leadership and perseverance. I think everyone on the teams have these qualities and everyone works hard.
Q. What do you believe you bring to your team?
NS. I think I bring hard work and leadership to the team.

NS. Characteristics that make for a good coach are believing in everyone.
