Player of the Week: Nicole Fox
Nicole Fox accepts every challenge in track & field competition with a positive attitude, according to her Lake Region coach, Mark Snow.
“Nicole is a first time member of the team. She has been a positive influence on the team,†Coach Snow said. “She comes to practice ready to learn something new about her events.â€
In recognition of her strong work ethic, determination, commitment and good sportsmanship, Nicole is this week’s Boosters and Hancock Lumber “Player of the Week.†Each week, a Lake Region athlete is recognized for his/her dedication (does more than what is asked), work ethic, coachability and academic good standing. Recipients receive a specially-designed t-shirt, sponsored by Hancock Lumber.

Q. Best piece of advice you have received? NF. “Always take care of yourself because no one else is going to,†— my Mom.
Q. Who is your biggest fan? NF. My biggest fans are always my coaches. No matter how I played that day, they never gave up on me.
Q. I know I have had a good sports day when…. NF. I know I have had a good sports day when the scoreboard doesn’t matter. A good sports day is when I know I did my absolute best, and I know the number doesn’t define me.
Q. What is your favorite sport? NF. My favorite sport is most definitely volleyball. It’s one of the only ones being so tall is useful.
Q. If I could change one thing about myself as an athlete, I would change… NF. I would love to be faster. Speed is an important part of every sport.
Q. What qualities make for a good teammate? NF. A good teammate is both positive and pushy. A good teammate doesn’t give up on you and makes you work harder. A good teammate currently is Kira Olsen because she is hard working and fun to be around.
Q. What characteristics do you feel make for a good coach? NF. A good coach tells you what you need to do to improve and advises you on how to get there.
