Player of the Week: Ian St. John
To be successful competing in cross-country, one must be committed.
Ian St. John is a case in point.
“Ian has been with the cross-country team for four years now, and he showed up for pre-season in great shape after training and racing the 10K Beach to Beacon race in early August,” Lake Region X-C Coach Kurt Peterson said. “Ian’s biggest strength is his commitment to running and to the team. He is a role model for our younger runners, showing them how to work hard, not only during races but daily practices. Ian is reliable, diligent and determined, earning this week’s Player of the Week award.
In recognition of his strong work ethic, determination, commitment and good sportsmanship, Ian is this week’s Athletic Boosters and Hancock Lumber “Player of the Week.” Each week, a Lake Region athlete is recognized for his/her dedication (does more than what is asked), work ethic, coachability and academic good standing. Recipients receive a specially-designed t-shirt, sponsored by Hancock Lumber.
