Player of the Week, Emily Reardon
Emily Reardon may not say much, but her work ethic and performance speaks volumes.
“Emily’s game has improved so much since she first joined us as a sophomore. She became an impact player her second year as a Junior and has continued to elevate her game, especially in her hits and elimination skills,” Lake Region varsity field hockey Coach Pauline Webb said. “She is a key player in our offensive corners, she’s a scorer as well as creates scoring opportunities for her teammates. She is very coachable and versatile as a player and deserves this recognition as Player of the Week.”
In recognition of her strong work ethic, determination, commitment and good sportsmanship, Emily is this week’s Boosters and Hancock Lumber “Player of the Week.” Each week, a Lake Region athlete is recognized for his/her dedication (does more than what is asked), work ethic, coachability and academic good standing. Recipients receive a specially-designed t-shirt, sponsored by Hancock Lumber.

Q. What do you find most challenging about the sport? Balancing the physical and mental strength it takes to play the game.
Q. What goal did you set for yourself this season, and what will it take to reach that goal? Since it’s my senior year, my goal is to make sure I give it my all. I will need to play with 110% effort during every game and leave it all on the field.
Q. What is your favorite sports memory and/or achievement (explain why)? My biggest achievement is looking back at how much I’ve grown and improved as a player since I started in eighth grade.
Q. How has sports made you a better person? Sports has taught me what true friendship is, how to learn from my mistakes, and to overcome challenges.
Q. Name a teammate or coach you admire and explain why? I admire Coach Webb because she welcomed me when I moved here my sophomore year and believed in my potential. She’s taught me so much. She’s always pushing us to keep getting better and I found my love for field hockey through the team she leads.
