Paula Smith

Paula Smith, 65, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2018, at Portland Maine Medical Center.

Paula was born in Hartford, Conn. and was a graduate of Hartford High, Conn., but lived most of her life in Maine. She worked as a caregiver to others. Paula enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and talking about old times. She loved going along with a good joke and playing them on others as well. She also enjoyed solving crosswords, Sudoku, watching old-time movies and spending most of the day with her sister Evelyn whom she lived with. Paula was loved by many and will be missed greatly by all.

She was predeceased by her husband Francis (Tiny) Smith, her mother Evelyn Klecmen; father Clifton MacDonald and beloved sister Josephine MacDonald.

Paula is survived by five daughters: Judy Smith, Francine Grace and her fiancé Mike Stover, Fayeline Stuck, Kim Beauchemin and her husband Jim Beauchemin, and Shari Smith and her husband Jeff. She leaves behind three dearly loved men in her life she thought of as her own sons, Michael Stover, Peter Stover and Jeff Stover. Paula also leaves behind a sister Evelyn Klecmen from Bridgton; brother Harold MacDonald and his wife Cammie MacDonald from East Hartford, Conn.; brother Clifton MacDonald from Rochester, N.H.; sister Judy Carmen and her husband Linwood Carmen from Versailles, Mich.; brother Michael Klecman and his wife Yvonne from Commerce City, Colo.; brother James Klecmen and his wife Christine from Bridgton; sister Anna Jean and husband Bob from Fla.; brother Clark MacDonald and his wife Carrie MacDonald from Kansas City, Mich.; and brother Doug MacDonald and his wife Mechelle Lagasse-MacDonald from Masardis. She leaves behind 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews and along with many great-nieces and nephews.

At the family’s request, visiting hours will be held Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Hall Funeral Home, Quaker Ridge Rd., Casco, from 2-4 p.m. Online condolences may be left for the family at hallfuneralhome.net
