Pamela W. Grant

Pamela Grant

Pamela Watkins Grant, 72, of South Casco, passed away peacefully early Monday morning, Jan. 27, 2025.

Pam was born on June 25, 1952, the daughter of Owen Dana and Dorothy Lucille (Ward) Watkins. She grew up on Thomas Pond in South Casco and attended local schools, being a proud graduate of the first class of Lake Region High School in 1970.

On September 11, 1970, Ray and Pam Grant were married at the Casco Village Congregational Church. They made their home in South Casco, where Pam worked at the South Casco and Casco post offices.

Pam was an active and beloved member of her community. For many years she was an enthusiastic member of the Sunshine Club in Webb’s Mills, a devoted member of the Raymond-Casco Historical Society, and the American Legion Auxiliary in Naples.

Pam had a lifelong passion for reading and was an avid collector of Stephen King novels. She enjoyed researching local history, especially of the South Casco area and her family’s history and genealogy. In December 2019, Pam self-published in collaboration with Sharkey Graphic Solutions in South Casco Tasty Traditions: Family and Friends’ Favorite Recipes, dedicated to her mother. She co-authored with Martha Glassford a pictorial history of Raymond and Casco, published by Arcadia Publishing in 2011. She was an important contributor to Mellisa Jill Kluge’s The History of Casco, Maine published 1991 by the Casco Sesquicentennial Committee.

Ray and Pam loved embarking on cross-country trips together, visiting the East Coast states and Florida, the Midwest and West Coast states and Canada and Alaska. Pam especially enjoyed volunteering in her community, for many years helping at the food barn and bingo tent at Casco Days, volunteering at the Veterans’ Breakfast in Casco with her grandson Jonathan, and contributing her time to the Naples Food Pantry alongside her dear friend Irene.

Pam is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Ray Grant of South Casco; her sons, Adam Grant and his wife, Elizabeth, of Otisfield, and Dan Grant and his wife, Christine, of Gorham, N.H.; her cherished grandchildren, Jonathan Grant and Travis, Madisyn, and Emily; her great-grandson, Lincoln; her sister Deborah Harrell, of Pembroke Pines, Fla.; her brother Dana Watkins, of South Casco; and her sister Rebecca Watson also of South Casco. Pam is also survived by three nieces: Meteena Watson of Fountain Hills, Ariz., Michelle Stuart of South Casco, and Whitney Cruz of Pembrooke Pines, Fla., and several grandnephews and grandnieces and first cousins.

She was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Richard Watkins.

A graveside committal and internment service will take place at 3 p.m., Friday, January 31, 2025, at Murch Cemetery in South Casco. Please note that at this time of year parking inside the grounds

of the Murch Cemetery is limited. The grave site is in the old part of the cemetery on the Raymond Cape Road side.

Arrangements are under the care of Hall Funeral Home in Casco. Condolences and tributes may be shared at www.hallfuneralhome.net.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in Pam’s memory is suggested to the Raymond-Casco Historical Society, a cause close to her heart. Pam’s kind heart and dedication to her family and community will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
