PUBLIC HEARING

TOWN OF BRIDGTON’S COMPREHENSIVE PLAN UPDATE

The Municipal Officers of the Town of Bridgton will hold a Public Hearing at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday May 13, 2025, on Bridgton’s 2025 Comprehensive Plan update.

The Plan is available on the Town website, www.bridgtonmaine.org, and copies will be posted at the Town Office and Bridgton Public Library. The meeting will be held in person and remote access will be provided. Information on how to participate remotely will be published at least 24 hours in advance of the meeting. This is a full-time position based on a minimum of 40 hours per week.

Starting Pay is $22.00 per hour.

These notices shall satisfy two separate but related procedural requirements for activities to be undertaken by the Town of Sweden.

REQUEST FOR RELEASE OF FUNDS

On or about April 11, 2025, Town of Sweden will submit a request to HUD for the release of Community Project Funding Program funds under the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2024, (P.L. 118-42), to undertake a project known as FIRE STATION for the purpose of constructing a new fire station for the Town. The scope of this project is building a 4864 square foot building on a concrete slab with radiant heat, building of wood framed with a truss roof covered with shingles. This building shall be constructed on existing town-owned property adjacent to the Town Office located at 147 Bridgton Road in Sweden, Maine 04040. This project is funded with a Community Project Funding Grant (CPF) from HUD in the amount of $1,150,000.00 plus funding from the Town of Sweden in the amount of $610,000.00. The total cost of this project is expected to be $1,760,000.00

FINDING OF NO SIGNIFICANT IMPACT

The Town of Sweden has determined that the project will have no significant impact on the human environment. Therefore, an Environmental Impact Statement under the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 (NEPA) is not required. Additional project information is contained in the Environmental Review Record (ERR) on file at the Sweden Town Office located at 147 Bridgton Road, Sweden, Maine 04040 or at https://cpd.hud. gov/cpd-public/environmental-reviews and may be examined or copied weekdays 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. by appointment by calling 207-647-3944.

PUBLIC COMMENTS

Any individual, group, or agency may submit written comments on the ERR to the Town of Sweden’s, EMA Director, Tommie C. McKenzie. All comments received by April 11, 2025, will be considered by the Town of Sweden prior to authorizing submission of a request for release of funds. Comments should specify which Notice they are addressing.

ENVIRONMENTAL CERTIFICATION

The Town of Sweden certifies to HUD that Tommie C. McKenzie in his capacity as EMA Director consents to accept the jurisdiction of the Federal Courts if an action is brought to enforce responsibilities in relation to the environmental review process and that these responsibilities have been satisfied. HUD’s approval of the certification satisfies its responsibilities under NEPA and related laws and authorities and allows the Town of Sweden to use Program funds.

OBJECTIONS TO RELEASE OF FUNDS

HUD will accept objections to its release of fund and the Town of Sweden’s certification for a period of fifteen days following the anticipated submission date or its actual receipt of the request (whichever is later) only if they are on one of the following bases: (a) the certification was not executed by the Certifying Officer of the Town of Sweden; (b) the Town of Sweden has omitted a step or failed to make a decision or finding required by HUD regulations at 24 CFR part 58; (c) the grant recipient or other participants in the development process have committed funds, incurred costs or undertaken activities not authorized by 24 CFR Part 58 before approval of a release of funds by HUD; or (d) another Federal agency acting pursuant to 40 CFR Part 1504 has submitted a written finding that the project is unsatisfactory from the standpoint of environmental quality. Objections must be prepared and submitted in accordance with the required procedures (24 CFR Part 58, Sec. 58.76) and shall be emailed to HUD at cpdrrofbos@hud.gov

Potential objectors should contact HUD to verify the actual last day of the objection period.

The Town of Lovell is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Public Works Director. The candidate must have a positive attitude and be a team player. An unrestricted C.D.L. Class A is required for this position.

The Public Works Director shall have computer skills for the electronic communications and interactions with all local, state, and federal entities as necessary for regulatory compliance, grant applications as appropriate, and all other electronic documentation required by this position. Should have experience in snow plowing and working with heavy equipment. Mechanical skills would be helpful.

Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds and may require being on your feet for extended periods of time.

This is a full-time position based on a minimum of 40 hours per week.

Starting Pay is $27.00 per hour.

Benefits include: health insurance, retirement, vacation pay, holidays and sick pay. Total benefit package around $24,000.00

The Town of Sweden, Maine is seeking an individual to serve as Town Clerk, Tax Collector and Registrar of Voters. This 30-hour, part-time position requires working 14-16 open office hours per week and any other closed office hours to complete the requirements of the position. Applicants should be detail- oriented and possess strong computer skills. Experience in municipal government and TRIO software is preferred however, we are willing to train the right candidate.

The Casco Planning Board will conduct a Public Hearing at The Casco Community Center Meeting Room, 940 Meadow Road, Casco Maine on Monday, January 13, 2025, beginning at 6:30 p.m. to consider the following:

Lake Region Brewing, Represented by Tor Moson. The proposed site is located at 333 Roosevelt Trail, Tax Map 2 – Map 14-E, Casco, Maine.

This is a proposed small brewery and taproom which will be located at what was formally known as Chutes Café and Bakery

Interested individuals are invited to attend at the above place and time to present any concerns for discussion.

A Site Walk will be performed by the Casco Planning Board on Monday, January 13, at 2:30 p.m. This will be performed at 333 Roosevelt Trail, Tax Map 2, Lot 14-E, in the Town of Casco, Maine, for a proposed small brewery, taproom. Lakes Region Brewing, represented by Tor Moson. The Planning Board meeting will follow at the Casco Community Room at 6:30 p.m.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Lovell Planning Board

The Lovell Maine Planning Board will hold a public hearing at the next scheduled Planning Board Meeting.

Date of Public Hearing: January 8, 2025
Time: 6:30 p.m.
Place: Lovell Town Hall, 1133 Main St., Lovell, Maine 04051

The public hearing is to present a correction/update of:

Article 8.14; Piers, Docks, Wharfs, Bridges and any other structure and uses extending Over or Beyond the Normal High-Water line of a Water Body or Within a Wetland.

Summary: The revisions are to address language that restrict docks where the water depth is shallow. It also brings the language inline with State Statute. The complete text is available at the town office and can be found on the town website.

The Town of Lovell is seeking qualified applications for a full-time position on the Public Works Department. The candidate must have a positive attitude and be a team player. A C.D.L. is required for this position. They should have experience in snowplowing and working with heavy equipment. Mechanical skills would be helpful.

Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds and may require being on your feet for extended periods of time.

This is a full-time position based on a minimum of 40 hours per week.

Starting Pay is $22.00 per hour.

Benefits include: Health Insurance, Retirement, vacation pay, Holidays and sick pay. Total benefit package around $24,000.00
