Music on Main rescheduled; two events now set for October

Like many people, Justic McIver could only shake his head as he saw sunshine late Saturday.

“Maine’s weather can be just so unpredictable,” McIver said.

Organizers of Music on Main faced a tough decision whether to hold the performance featuring Catcha Vibe, B.Positive and Nettie Loops, beginning at 6 p.m. at 144 Main Street in Bridgton.

“Because we had to give the performers 24-hour notice, we looked at the weather reports and it looked like rain. It was a hard decision. There’s so much planning that goes into this,” McIver said. “Needless to say, seeing the sun shining Saturday, we were super bummed that we had canceled. We apologize to those looking forward to the show.”

But, the show will go on. In fact, McIver said Music on Main will double up in October with the slate of performers rescheduled to play on Saturday, Oct. 16, while a second concert will be held on Saturday, Oct. 23. McIver said there will be some shuffling of vendors for the Oct. 16 show, since some that planned to be here this past Saturday are already booked for the make-up date.
