Milton W. Cross, 87
Milton W. Cross, 87, of Bridgton died Monday, Dec. 1, 2014, at Bridgton Hospital after a brief illness.
Milton was born on May 28, 1927 to Raymond and Blanche Cross. He attended Spurrs Corner School in Otisfield. On Jan. 1, 1951, he married Betty A. Moynihan of Bridgton. Together, they shared 63 years of marriage. For years, he owned and operated Milt’s Gulf Station and Milt’s Sales and Service on Portland Street. He was one of the first snowmobile dealers in Maine and one of the founders of Bridgton Easy Riders Snowmobile Club. He also helped install the first chair lift at Pleasant Mountain (Shawnee Peak).
Milton was predeceased by his sibling, Raymond L. Cross Jr. of North Bridgton; his daughter, Judy L. Morrill of Harrison; and his grandson.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Betty Moynihan of Bridgton; sons Gene M. Cross of Naples, Jerry L. Cross of Lisbon Falls, Darren J. Cross of Bridgton and Dean S. Cross of Pearland, Texas; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A celebration to honor Milt’s life will be held at Windham Assembly of God, 1051 Roosevelt Trail, Windham at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2014.
