Max Fornwalt

Max E. Fornwalt, 75, of Scituate, Mass., passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2024, after a short illness.

Max was born to Barbara Maria and the late Max B. Fornwalt in 1949. Max was raised in Springfield Township, Pa., with his sister Barbara and brother Scott.

Max was a graduate of Springfield High School and Penn State University where he was a member of TKE fraternity. During the entirety of his successful 36-year career at ISO, Max navigated government relations, national accounts and more.

Max had an inquisitive nature and made sure to read and educate himself on many subjects, which gave him the ability to be a diverse conversationalist.

Max found a love boating in Fenwick Island, Del., in his youth that continued throughout his life. Max enjoyed boating in the ocean in Scituate aboard the SeaLion, going on whale watches, lobstering and sightseeing. Max continued his love of the water boating in Maine, cruising around Long Lake with family, taking great pleasure in taking his nieces out on the water.

Max developed a passion for music early on that continued throughout his life. He was a drummer in a variety of bands in his youth including City Chicken and The Respectables. Max continued learning and playing various instruments throughout his life and sharing that interest with many different kids in his life.

Penn State football brought Max much excitement, joy and heartbreak. Even when the team won, Max found a way to worry about their performance. Max enjoyed many weekend days watching football with family and friends, often looking away afraid of what might happen on the field.

Max was married to the love of his life, Margaret Lewis for 43 years until her recent passing in early December 2024. Max will be remembered for his infectious personality, his kindness, unforgettable laugh and sense of humor.

Max is survived by his mother Barbara Fornwalt, sister Barbara Mustard and her husband Stanley, brother Scott Fornwalt, many dearly loved nephews and nieces, as well as numerous cherished friends.

Services will be private.
