Mary J. Perry, 77
FRYEBURG — Mary J. Dysinger Perry, 77, of Fryeburg, died peacefully on Thursday, Jan. 16, 2020, at her home with her devoted husband, Lawrence Perry, by her side.
Mary was born March 17, 1942, in Arlington, Mass., the daughter of John H. and Ellen (Twitchell) Jordan.
Mary was a graduate of Sanford High School, class of 1960 and Farmington College, class of 1964. In 1972, she obtained her Master of Library Sciences.
She worked as a librarian for Portland Public Library, Bangor Public Library, Auburn Public Library, Lake Region High School Library and Lisbon High School Library. She got her CNA, so she would be able to help anyone who may need it. During the summers, she was also employed by Maine Tourism from 1987 until her retirement in 2017.
Her greatest personal achievement was to become an intermediate cello player in her later years. She was known to state, “The cello is the light of my life.”
She was a grateful member of the Fryeburg New Church.
Mary was predeceased by both of her parents, John and Ellen Jordan, and her first husband of 12 years, Robert Dysinger.
She is survived by her husband, Lawrence of Fryeburg; her husband’s children and grandchildren; stepdaughter Amy Martin from her first marriage; her sister, Susan Parent of Bridgton, the best sister anyone could have; her cousins and her dear aunt.
There will be a celebration of Mary’s life on Sunday, Jan. 26, at 4 p.m. at the Fryeburg New Church, officiated by Rev. Ken Turley and Rev. Allison Lane-Olsen, with a reception to follow. A graveside service will be held in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fryeburg Public Library, 515 Main Street, Fryeburg, ME 04037, in Mary’s name.
