Mary E. Duggan, 87
WINDHAM — Mary E. Duggan, 87, of Tavares, Fla., and formerly of Windham, died peacefully at a Tavares, Fla. hospice on Feb. 27, 2015.
Born on Aug. 11, 1927, she was the eldest daughter of Carroll V. and Doris K. Mathews.
Mary worked for H.P. Hood and Ellis Paperboard in Portland. Mary loved to play bingo, enjoyed traveling, and was a big fan of the Boston Red Sox.
Her husband of over 40 years, James E. Duggan, predeceased her.
Upon their retirement, they traveled the country before deciding to reside in Tavares, Fla. “They really liked the area. It reminded them of the many summers they spent camping on Brandy Pond in Naples.â€
Survivors include daughters, Diane E. Fox of Tavares, Fla. and Jayne E. Rickett of Windham; three grandsons and a great-grandchild; sisters, Donna C. Brown of Portland and Carole A. Haddad of Bridgton; brother, Raye S. Mathews of Portland; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also predeceased by a daughter, Vicki E. Moore of Westbrook; a grandson; and a sister, Ethel M. Hackett of Portland.
A celebration of life will be held at the A.T. Hutchins Funeral Home, 660 Brighton Avenue, Portland, on Friday, May 15, 2015, at 1 p.m. Relatives and friends are welcome to visit with the family on Friday from 11:30 a.m. until the hour of the service.
