Mary Avery

AUBURN – Mary A. (Farwell) Avery, 58, of Minot, passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2023, at the Hospice House in Auburn with her loving family by her side.

She was born December 19, 1964, in Portland, the daughter of Cecile and Janet Shirley.

Mary loved track and field in school. She went on to become a certified nursing assistant and worked in many of the local nursing homes, showing compassion and care for those she was entrusted to take care of. She also loved all types of animals, especially cats and horses.

She married the love of her life David Avery on August 19, 1990.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband David of Minot; son John Bell of Lewiston; three grand-children; one great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews; siblings Dan Farwell of Bridgton and Nancy Soule of Richmond; many in-laws: Richard and Daphne Avery of West- brook, Kenneth and Linda Avery of Bridgton, Robert and Sherry Avery of Somerset, Ky., Kevin Avery and Deborah Stanford of Bridgton, Joyce Avery, Daniel Leet of Lewiston and Mark and Mindy Ferguson of Mechanic Falls. Also survived by loving mother-in-law Barbara Avery of Bridgton.

She was predeceased by her parents; and brother Bill Farwell of Richmond.

A celebration of life was held on August 26, 2023, at 2 p.m. at the Brown Mill Farm, 30 Brown Mill Rd., North Bridgton.
