What is your favorite class?I don’t necessarily have a specific favorite class, but I love art classes the most because they push me beyond my artistic comfort zone and because of it I learn new styles and techniques!
What is your toughest class? My toughest class is my Algebra Dual Enrollment because I have to study on my own and manage my time in a more wise way. Since I don’t have a teacher to remind me about deadlines or offer in-person help with assignments, this class is not only teaching me about quadratics and functions, but also how to learn independently.
How do you balance your class work and your extracurricular activities? I think about things one day at a time. Instead of looking at my class work and activities as the workload they are, I only think of what I can/have to do today and it stops me (for the most part) from getting overwhelmed.
What is the biggest challenge high school students face today? I think the biggest challenge for students is how directionless life can feel. It can be hard to definitively say what we want our future to look like, and it can be scary to hold what feels like the rest of our life in our hands. I think the responsibility weighs a lot of students down, especially seniors.
Who has inspired you educationally? Since I was a kid, my parents have always encouraged my education. They made learning fun, and have supported me through my classes since I’ve gotten older, and it has led me to have a love and passion for learning.
