What is your favorite class? My favorite class is Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies. I really enjoyed this class because it focused around a lot of civil rights issues that I feel are prevalent to this day. I found that this class taught me a lot about where so many cultural problems stem from and what we can do to make them less impactful on our lives. It was very educational and eye opening for me.
What is your toughest class? My toughest class will likely be statistics because I have always found math to be most challenging. I am looking forward to challenging myself to learn and become more confident in this area.
How do you balance your class work and your extracurricular activities? I balance my time by setting specific goals and times to work on certain things. I also make sure to schedule time that is for me to relax and spend with others. I find that this helps me manage my classes, extracurriculars and mental and physical health.
What is the biggest challenge high school students face today? I believe that the biggest challenge high school students face is learning how to prioritize their mental and physical health when so much of our lives seem to be telling us to prioritize things like school and extracurriculars. I believe that learning how to manage and balance these is what makes a successful student who is also healthy emotionally and physically.
Who has inspired you educationally? My mom has inspired me educationally. Growing up, she always worked in a school environment or in some way helping people become more educated and therefore successful. Seeing all the good that she does for others every day motivates me to do the same and hopefully have an impact on others in the future.
