Q. What program are you in at the Vocational Center? I am in the Culinary Arts II program
Q. What do you like most about your program? Every day, I am learning something new and I am continuing to build up the skills I already have. I also enjoy the hands-on experience and the fun environment. Mr. B is the best!
Q. What are your plans after graduation? After graduation, I plan to attend Southern Maine Community College and major in Culinary Arts and Hospitality. I also want to travel more.
Q. What career goal(s) do you have? I would like to own my own catering business or food truck. I would also like to continue to travel abroad and experience different cuisines around the world.
Q. Who or what inspired you to pursue this path? My interest began when I was younger, making biscuits with my grammy and then starting my first job at Melby’s, washing dishes and frosting whoopie pies. I was then asked to bake pies for my family’s Thanksgiving. I also made strawberry short cakes for Sebago Days and maple frappes for Maine Maple Sunday.
Q. What advice would you like to give future students? I would advise future students to try your best, look outside the box, get out of your comfort zone, always be yourself, clean up your mess, and always be kind.
