Kate Hall leaves her mark
KATE HAS SURELY LEFT HER MARK — At the annual Just Desserts Athletic Night, Lake Region honored record-setting track athlete by unveiling this specially-created banner, which will grace the gymnasium wall marking the achievements of All-American Kate Hall of Casco. Kate closed out her high school career Saturday at the New England Championships held at Thornton Academy in Saco. Kate won the long jump in record fashion at 20-feet 11-inches (breaking her old mark of 20-5), and added a win in the 100 meters. She posted the fastest time off 11.41 seconds. Kate placed second in the 200 meters in 23.69, just behind defending champ Quashira McIntosh of Hope, R.I., who crossed the finish line in 23.64 — both marks topped the previous record of 23.98. Kate is off to the New Balance Nationals in Greensboro, N.C. this weekend. (Rivet Photo)
