Joyce C. Schoff, 70
LYMAN — Joyce Carol (Stewart) Schoff, 70, of Lyman, passed peacefully with her family by her side on Friday, Oct.19, 2018.
She was born on Dec. 17, 1947, the younger in a set of twins, to May Elizabeth and John Charles Stewart, of Jersey Shore, Pa. Joyce graduated from Jersey Shore High School in 1965, and married Steven “Stubby†Schoff of Kennebunk in 1967.
She was president of the Webb’s Mills Sunshine Club for years and owned and operated Molly’s Bottle Shop convenience store in Casco. Joyce also had an impressive paper route and could often be seen installing her own paper boxes with a sledgehammer on the side of some country road in York County. She was a NASCAR fan, and a founding member of the Southern Maine Garden Tractor Club. Joyce filled the windows of her home with houseplants. She loved gardening, picking blueberries, cooking for her family, card games, shopping, bingo, owls, and hummingbirds. More than anything, Joyce loved her grandchildren. They loved her right back.
Joyce was predeceased by her parents, May and John Stewart; two nephews and a niece.
Joyce is survived by her beloved “Stub†(Steven Schoff Sr.); daughter, Lisa Dearborn; son, Steven Jr.; daughter, Molly Tillson; seven grandchildren; twin brother, John Stewart Jr.; sisters, Patricia Stewart and Kate Koons; brothers, James Stewart and Donald Stewart; and dozens of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 17, at 9 a.m., at the Autumn Green Funeral Home, 47 Oak Street, in Alfred. You are invited to visit with Joyce’s family until 10:30 a.m., followed by a procession to Chadbourne Cemetery for committal prayers and burial.
