Joseph P.A. Archambault, 86

Joseph Archambault

Joseph Paul Albert Archambault, 86, was called by our Lord on Wednesday, October 27, 2021. “Al” passed
in his sleep, losing his battle with renal kidney disease.

He was born in Three Rivers, Quebec, Canada, on April 12, 1935. Al started working with his father as a stone
mason’s helper at the age of 11. He served in the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1956 to 1966 as a radar
technician and later a manual data supervisor before he left his 10-year career. One of Als’ greatest accomplishments was the day he proudly earned his American citizenship, October 27, 1980.

Al valued a hard day’s work and was always trying to im- prove himself. He worked as an oil burner technician for many years, successfully earning his master’s license Nov., 1979. He operated his own business, Al’s Burner Service, in the early 1990s.

Al’s most loved and cherished occupation was driving a school bus. He began driving for a time with SAD 17 and then finished his 28-year career with SAD 61, retiring in June of this year. He often talked about how he looked forward to going to work to joke around with his coworkers and see the smiles. Al never missed a scheduled day of work and only overslept once in his entire career. He often took trips in addition to his route, which just goes to show his dedication. He was loved by the many students he drove each day and loved by most everyone who knew him. He was a man of honor and ethics.

Al is survived by his wife Carol of 57 years, his son Tony and his fiancé, Charlene, grandson Jared and his wife Bre, great-grandchildren Joshua and Madison. He is also survived by “daddy’s little girl,” Athena, who is absolutely heartbroken and lost without him. He was her rock and by all means, the reason she knew the sun would rise tomorrow, her husband Jeremy and two grandchildren Harley and Joseph.

A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, November 21. Guests are welcome to arrive from anytime between 12 and 4 p.m. at the Oriental Lodge #13 located at 166 Harrison Road, Bridgton, Maine 04009. Food and beverages will be provided. No alcohol allowed.

Friends, students, and coworkers are strongly encouraged to come and meet the family and share their stories, opening our eyes to a world of “Al” that he couldn’t talk with us about... HIPPA laws, you know!

The children are requesting that in lieu of flowers, monetary donations be made in “Al’s” memory, to care for his wife.
