John W. Cannell Sr., 81
CASCO — John Wesley Cannell Sr., 81, of Casco, died on Friday, August 1, 2014, at the Ledgewood Manor in Windham.
He was born in Windham on June 11, 1933, the son of the late Everett H. and Francis (Boothby) Cannell Sr.
John attended local schools and went on to work as a truck driver for M.L. Rogers, where he delivered fertilizer, brick, and heavy equipment. Later he worked for, and retired from, Clifford Perham, Inc., where he hauled groceries for Shaw's Supermarkets.
John always looked forward to local bean suppers to socialize with family and friends. Through his life, he loved dancing, roller-skating, bowling, camping, gardening, traveling, and attending fairs. He was a member of the Good Sam Club and the Family Campers and RVer's. He and his wife met many dear friends fireside.
He shared 46 years of marriage with Caroline J. (Brown) Cannell of Casco.
In addition to his wife, family members include his children, John Cannell Jr. and his wife, Gwen; Jane Greene and husband, Donald Greene Sr.; Jeffery Nichols and his companion, Cheryl; and Leslie Burgess and her companion, Lester; four grandchildren, Wyatt Cannell, Lily Cannell, Raymond Burgess and Travis Burgess; a brother, Donald Cannell; a sister, Ruth Weir; and a mother-in-law, Frances Atwood.
He was predeceased by a brother, Everett; and two sisters, Margaret and Dorothy.
