NAPLES – John Hartley Holdsworth, 62, of Carlisle, Mass., and Naples, Maine, and formerly of Andover, Mass., died at home with his wife by his side on Thursday December 5, 2019, following his valiant and gracious battle with metastatic prostate cancer.

He is survived by his beloved wife Patti Conlon Holdsworth of more than 21 years; adored stepson, Eric M. Kelling, his wife Nikki Imbergamo-Kelling and cherished grandson, Bodhi John Kelling of Stoneham, Mass., dear brother, Gordon, “Chip,” Holdsworth Jr. and his wife Kathy of Methuen, Mass., three nieces, Kim Nardiff and her husband Sean of Salem, N.H., Kristin Masini and her husband Chip of Conn., Allison Holdsworth of Alabama; a nephew, Mark Holdsworth and his wife Cathy of Texas; a grand-niece, several grand-nephews and cousins; as well as many friends and extended family members.

John Hartley worked in the construction and property management industry for over 32 years and was a certified Massachusetts Construction Supervisor and Home Improvement Contractor. Prior to joining S.B.L.I. in Woburn, Mass. where he was employed as the Facilities Manager for eight years, he operated his own property management and construction companies. He had also been employed for several years, by TD Bank North, formerly Andover Bank.

John Hartley will be remembered for his knowledge and love of cars. Owning classic automobiles, he enjoyed working on them himself and cruising in New England with his wife. He treasured spending time in Maine and New Hampshire: fishing the Androscoggin River in Errol, N.H., boating on Long Lake in Naples, golfing on the several courses around the Lake Region, and snowmobiling around the Connecticut Lakes in N.H.; sharing so many memorable experiences with friends and family. He could be counted on for a good story about past events with others, remembering the minutest details. He liked attending auctions and antiquing, and was known for his vinyl album collection and as an avid Red Sox, Patriots and Bruins fan. He touched many lives, collecting countless friendships, with his thoughtfulness, kindness, gentleness, sense of humor and overall positive attitude, especially through his illness.
