Joan Ladd

GEORGETOWN, S.C. — Joan Ladd, 58, passed away peacefully Thursday, Nov. 17, 2016, at Tidelands Community Hospice House in South Carolina.

She was born July 2, 1958, in Torrington, Conn., to Rose (Certillo) and the late Theodore Grosclaude.

Following her retirement from the Aetna Insurance Company in Middle-town, Conn., she and her beloved husband of 28 years, David, relocated to Myrtle Beach, S.C.

She loved being outdoors and enjoyed golfing, fishing, and gardening. Joan’s favorite time of the year was spending summers at her camp in Maine. When she wasn’t working in her own garden, she could be found volunteering at Brookgreen Gardens.

Along with her loving husband, left to cherish Joan’s memory is her mother, Rose Grosclaude of Torrington, Conn.; a stepdaughter, Stacey Ladd of Southington, Conn.; her stepson, David J. Ladd of Cheshire, Conn.; her brother, Gary (Amy) Grosclaude of Colebrook, Conn.; her sister, Jane (Brian) Spinney of Greer, S.C.; her mother-in-law, Mary Ladd of Cheshire, Conn.; and several nieces, a nephew, as well as a great-niece and a great-nephew.
