Jean Churchill, 90
Jean Marie (Glynn) Churchill, 90, of Sweden, former resident of Amesbury and longtime resident of Lexington, Mass., passed away early Saturday morning, April 17, 2021, at the Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, after a period of declining health.
She was the beloved wife of the late Francis S. “Frank” Churchill, who died July 20, 2003.
Born in Cambridge, on Oct. 22, 1930, Jean was the daughter of the late Peter J. and Lillian T. (Howes) Glynn, and graduated from St. Clement Catholic High School of Medford, and was also the stepdaughter of the late Dominic Donato and sister of the late Rita (Glynn) Lupoli.
Jean’s life was all about family. She was the very proud mother of eight children, 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, and was an inspiration to all of them. With her motherly guidance, she watched over them, taught them the important life lessons of kindness, understanding, compassion and tolerance, and watched them grow into adulthood, getting married and raising their own families. Each step of the way, she was by their side, always with words of encouragement and praise. Her love for them was unending and she in return received the greatest reward with the enjoyment of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jean loved her family more than anything in the world!
As her children flourished, so did her garden flourish. She devoted endless hours to tending her garden, sharing the bounty with family and friends. Camping and traveling were wonderful adventures filled with much laughter, picture taking and storytelling.
In her later years, she enjoyed the antique business and owned and operated Kezar River Loft with her daughter Patricia in Sweden.
Her life’s legacy will live within the hearts of her five sons, Kenneth S. Churchill, Bradley S. Churchill, Stephen F. Churchill, Eric S. Churchill and Neil C. Churchill; her three daughters, Patricia L. Linscott, Pamela J. Stander and Leslie A. Hollis; along with her 15 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and extended family and many dear friends. Her love will continue to shower them like a soft blanket of velvet rose petals.
Visiting hours will be held Saturday, May 1, 2021 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Highland Chapel of Paul C. Rogers Family Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Avenue, Amesbury, Mass. immediately followed by services at the funeral home, with burial at Bartlett Cemetery, Amesbury, Mass.
