James W. Allen
SOUTH HIRAM — James “Jimmy” W. Allen, 65, passed away peacefully Saturday, Dec. 4, 2021, at his home after a courageous battle with cancer with his wife at his side.
He was born in Bridgton, Maine on July 23, 1956, son of William and Gladys (Andrews) Allen. He attended Lake Region High School and joined the Army when he was 17. He worked various jobs through the years and married his high school sweetheart, Carol (Miller) Thomas-Allen on Nov. 7, 2021.
Jimmy loved fishing, snowmobiling and spending time with family. He was a member of Naples Fire Dept. as a teenager and more recently a member of South Hiram Fire Dept.
He was the second youngest of twelve. He is predeceased by his parents, brother Glen Adams of Bridgton, sister June Blais of Sebago and brother Harold Adams of Casco.
He is survived by his wife, Carol of South Hiram; sisters Shirley Shane of Naples, Vivian Polland and husband Gene of North Berwick, Patricia Woolley and husband David of Bridgton, Rosalie Merrill of South Portland, Lillian Madura of Poland, Elaine Mead and husband Kelly of Disputanta, Va.; brothers Phillip Adams and wife Judy of Greenville Junction and Walter Adams of Naples; stepsons Rob Thomas and his girlfriend Amie Bailey of Bridgton and Steve Thomas and his wife Debra of Harrison; Chad Fillion and his wife Jessica of Lancaster, N.H.; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Much thanks and gratitude to Dr. Devon Evans and his team at New England Cancer Specialists, Maine Medical Center doctors and nurses and Kindred Hospice for their excellent care and compassion.
A celebration of life will be held in the spring. A benefit will be held in January.
