BROWNFIELD — Gerald Harrison Quimby Jr., 80, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 9, 2025, at his home with his loving family by his side.

He was born Nov. 20, 1944, in Brownfield, a son of the late Gerald Quimby Sr. and Alice (Richardson) Noble.

Gerald worked in the woods most of his life as a lumberjack. After retiring, he did carpentry and had a firewood business also doing dump runs, and worked in a garage. His best friend Mark would help with firewood and assist at the garage.

He had a love of animals, liked to go hunting and fishing, going plowing, and helping others; he was always busy doing something.

He was predeceased by his loving parents, Gerald Quimby Sr. and Alice (Richardson) Noble, sister Dianne Noble and his sons Dale and Darren Quimby.

He is survived by his sister Nancy Walker who he lived with, his daughter, and several nieces, along with numerous great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.

The family will hold a celebration of life on Saturday, February 22, 2025, from 1 to 5 p.m. at Quimby’ s garage.
