Francis Johnston, a longtime resident of Bridgton, passed away on August 29, 2023 surrounded by his
family.

Frank was born in Somerville, Mass., and graduated from Tufts University before marrying Norma West. They were married for 61 years and had four children, 10 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. Frank put a lot into his 95 years. He joined the Marines, had a successful career with
John Hancock Insurance, and was an active member of all the churches he joined. His love of music was second only to his faith. He enjoyed sharing both with everyone he met and enjoyed sharing his faith with song.

Even in his 95th year, he was gardening and donating produce to the food pantry. Other hobbies included playing the bagpipes, driving his Percherons, raising farm animals, haying, and participating in as many events with his family as possible. He kept up with what was happening in all his family members lives.

He was a member of the Pleasant Mountain Presbyterian Church and he considered them a second family.
