Frances I. Nemo, 91
NORWAY — Frances I. Nemo, 91, of North Bridgton, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 15, 2018, at Stephens Memorial Hospital with family members at her side.
Frances “Fran†was born Dec. 20, 1926, in Maspeth, N.Y., where she grew up. Fran was the daughter of the late Peter and Mary Waniewski Suleski. She was a graduate of Grover Cleveland High School in Queens, N.Y. She worked as a typist for Union Carbide Corporation in Manhattan.
On May 8, 1948, she married Edward “Ed†Joseph Nemo, they enjoyed 61 happy years together until his passing on Aug. 4, 2009.
In 1964, Ed and Fran moved their family of six to Mahopac, N.Y., to enjoy a more rural setting in which to raise their children. Along with raising four children, Fran worked part-time at various positions. She was also a member of the Mahopac Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. In 1974 Ed and Fran moved to New Hampshire for many years. They enjoyed traveling to different parts of Florida and the U.S., and visiting family. In 1997 they moved to North Bridgton, where they resided for the remainder of their years.
Fran enjoyed reading, crocheting, baking, cooking, traveling and, most of all, spending time with her family and many friends. She enjoyed leading the “Jumping Janes†exercise class at the Bridgton Town Hall. She was a member of the Red Hat Society. Fran was a devout Catholic and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
She is survived by her four children, Linda M. Dunn and her husband Gregory of Altamont, N.Y., Thomas E. Nemo and his wife Loraine of Naperville, Ill., Michael W. Nemo and his wife Patricia Warnken of Severn, Md., and Mary Kronillis and her fiancé Joseph Daley of North Bridgton; eleven grandchildren, Alecia Esposito and her husband Paul, Gregory Dunn II, Cassandra Dunn-Olivera and her husband Yuri, Elizabeth Cutri and her husband Gianni, Edward Nemo, Thomas Nemo, Leslie Nemo, Melissa Vetter and her husband Scott, James Kronillis and his wife Rebecca, Zachary Surette, Matthew Surette; and six great-grandchildren, Aiden and Emma Vetter, Lia, Dante and Enzo Cutri, and Jake Esposito.
Fran was predeceased by her sister Helen Urbank, and her brother Henry Suleski of Maspeth, N.Y.
The family would like to thank the staff at Market Square Health Care Center in South Paris, and especially the staff on the Residential Care Unit, for the wonderful care and support they provided to our loving Mother during the last three months of her life.
A Mass of Christian Burial, followed by interment will be announced at a future date.
