Final chances to see LR Drama Club’s ‘Little Shop of Horrors’
Little Shop of Horrors, presented by the Lake Region Drama Club, opens this Friday night, Jan. 17, in the LRHS Auditorium at 7:30 p.m.
Other show dates and times are:
• January 18, 24 and 25 with shows starting at 7:30 p.m.
• January 19 and 26 with matinees starting at 2 p.m.
Tickets will be available at the door: $15 for adults and $10 for students/seniors (ages 65-plus).
Unique raffle baskets will also be available. Tickets are $5 for 10 tickets.

Q. What lured you to take part in drama productions? I really like how drama takes me out of my comfort zone and pushes me to be more social.
Q. What is your greatest fear when it comes to being in a production and how do you overcome it? My biggest performance-based fear is missing lines and/or cues. I overcome this by reading the script many times.
Q. What do you like about your role? The most fun and challenging part of my role is properly portraying the emotions of the character especially when he gets angry.

Q. What lured you to take part in drama productions? Theater has gotten me through a lot in life and it is something I enjoy doing in my free time.
Q. What is your greatest fear when it comes to being in a production and how do you overcome it? I have bad stage fright and being on stage as another person helps with that.
Q. What do you like about your role? I like feeling validated and accepted in my voice, body, and identity.
Q. What do you find most fun/challenging about the role? Memorization and staging are difficult but overall, it’s pretty fun.

Q. What lured you to take part in drama productions? I love singing and have loved productions in the past.
Q. What is your greatest fear when it comes to being in a production and how do you overcome it? The audience usually finds it funny.
Q. What do you like about your role? Audrey’s music is so catchy and fun to sing!
Q. What do you find most fun/challenging about the role? She’s very meek and self-conscious which is different from me!

Q. What lured you to take part in drama productions? Hanging out with awesome people, being dramatic on stage.
Q. What is your greatest fear when it comes to being in a production and how do you overcome it? I worry that I will drop a line by accident but I am studying to become good at it.
Q. What do you like about your role? I’m a villain and I am one of the four main characters.
Q. What do you find most fun/challenging about the role? I have a lot of lines and two songs. It’s also been fun working with different people.

Q. What lured you to take part in drama productions? The accessibility and yet it still being a physical activity with a creative aspect.
Q. What is your greatest fear when it comes to being in a production and how do you overcome it? Messing up in any way, I just subscribe to the “fake it till you make it” ideology.
Q. What do you like about your role? It’s a group role so I can have fun bits with my fellow Urchins!
Q. What do you find most fun/challenging about the role? I sing 12 songs and didn’t have a lot of time to work on them with my voice teacher.

Q. What lured you to take part in drama productions? When I was a freshman, I found out about the fall play and my friends/Mom wanted me to try it. I got a part and ever since then, I’ve stayed with drama.
Q. What is your greatest fear when it comes to being in a production and how do you overcome it? My greatest fear is messing up my dances or falling on stage in-front of my family.
Q. What do you like about your role? I like that Crystal is sassy because that’s different from my personality. I also like that she gets to dance and sing through the whole show.
Q. What do you find most fun/challenging about the role? Being on stage for almost all of the show is the most challenging.

Q. What lured you to take part in drama productions? I started drama when I was in middle school and when I got to high school, I wanted to continue my drama experience. Ever since then I have found joy in every performance, I have been in.
Q. What is your greatest fear when it comes to being in a production and how do you overcome it? One of my greatest fears is trying to learn my lines on time as well as music. To overcome it, I sit down, don’t overthink and with a little bit of help work on my lines.
Q. What do you like about your role? The part I like the most is I am a sassy urchin with an attitude.
Q. What do you find most fun/challenging about the role? One of the challenging things about my role is the three-part harmony with six people. But on the funnier side, I absolutely love the dances we perform.

Q. What lured you to take part in drama productions? My close friends always told me how fun the shows were so I decided to audition. Afterwards, I enjoyed it so much, I kept auditioning for the shows.
Q. What is your greatest fear when it comes to being in a production and how do you overcome it? My biggest fear is letting my peers down or not living up to everyone else’s expectations. I overcome this fear by reminding myself that I’m trying my best and that my best is good enough.
Q. What do you like about your role? I like being a female character that sings in a lower range and I enjoy all the dancing my role has.
Q. What do you find most fun/challenging about the role? The most challenging thing about the role is all the dancing; the most fun part would be the lines and singing.

Q. What lured you to take part in drama productions? It was a way to express my inner self.
Q. What is your greatest fear when it comes to being in a production and how do you overcome it? Forgetting my lines. I overcome it by working day and night to memorize.
Q. What do you like about your role? I like that my character is very animated in the way it speaks and acts.
Q. What do you find most fun/challenging about the role? I’m not on stage so I have to try harder to get my characters emotions across.

Q. What lured you to take part in drama productions? My past experiences with shows and my passion for music is what lured me to take part in the drama productions.
Q. What is your greatest fear when it comes to being in a production and how do you overcome it? My greatest fear is messing up a note in the song or forgetting a line. I overcome it by warming up my voice and look at my lines and run them multiple times.
Q. What do you like about your role? I like how I sing a lot and get to take part in a lot or scenes.
Q. What do you find most fun/challenging about the role? I find the dancing the most challenging due to not having much past experience. The most fun thing is the music and hearing it come together.

Q. What is your greatest fear when it comes to being in a production and how do you overcome it? Being in front of huge crowds. I look for the people I know in the audience when I’m scared.
Q. What do you like about your role? I still get to be a part of the show being in the ensemble.
Q. What do you find most fun/challenging about the role? I was hard to balance all my extracurriculars.

Q. What lured you to take part in drama productions? My friend forced me to but after my first show, I fell in love with drama.
Q. What is your greatest fear when it comes to being in a production and how do you overcome it? Falling on stage. I wear grippy shoes and make sure to keep myself healthy so I don’t get dizzy.
Q. What do you like about your role? I like that he’s a fast talker. I’m a naturally fast talker so I enjoy it.
Q. What do you find most fun/challenging about the role? The most fun part to me is just his personality.

Q. What is your greatest fear when it comes to being in a production and how do you overcome it? Messing up a line. I simply go along with the plot.
Q. What do you like about your role? Just that I am a part of this production.
Q. What do you find most fun/challenging about the role? Having to memorize a lot of dancing and perfecting my role.

Q. What lured you to take part in drama productions? I’m an exchange student from Indonesia. Having the opportunity to study in the USA for an academic year made me want to join the drama productions. I just knew that I would get a whole new experience, more new friends and definitely tons of fun! I also LOVE music so that also made me want to take part.
Q. What is your greatest fear when it comes to being in a production and how do you overcome it? Since the production we’re preparing is my first musical ever, I tend to worry about messing up the music parts and the dance choreography. However, I just made sure that I would always put my full attention during rehearsals.
Q. What do you like about your role? Being in the ensemble is very chill and that’s why I like it since it isn’t loading my brain with too much information in a short period of time.
Q. What do you find most fun/challenging about the role? I was asked one month before the show opened if I would play the role of Patrick Martin so it’s just exciting to know that I’ll have some lines.

Q. What lured you to take part in drama productions? My flare for dramatics, my outgoing personality, and a love for all things singing and dancing. I love being around people that are kind and share mostly the same interests.
Q. What is your greatest fear when it comes to being in a production and how do you overcome it? My greatest fear is honestly forgetting my lines in the middle of an important part of the show. I try my best to overcome this fear by taking deep breaths and looking over lines.
Q. What do you like about your role? Being in the ensemble allows you to be plenty of different roles.
Q. What do you find most fun/challenging about the role? I found that the most fun part of being in the ensemble is adding at least a little bit to scenes and the most challenging part is remembering when to enter on stage and learning the dances.

Q. What lured you to take part in drama productions? I love musical theater as well as singing. I like the community that comes with being a part of a cast. It makes me feel included.
Q. What is your greatest fear when it comes to being in a production and how do you overcome it? Singing in front of other and it sounding bad is my biggest fear when being in productions. I overcome it by listening to the music and practicing my part on my own.
Q. What do you like about your role? I like that I can still be a part of the show even if it’s just a small one.
Q. What do you find most fun/challenging about the role? I find the dancing both fun and challenging for this role.

Q. What is your greatest fear when it comes to being in a production and how do you overcome it? Doing something wrong and being overly self-conscious.
Q. What do you like about your role? I get to be a tooth.
Q. What do you find most fun/challenging about the role? The dancing gets fast sometimes.

Q. What is your greatest fear when it comes to being in a production and how do you overcome it? Probably thinking Chris Evans or someone is in the audience and is making fun of my skills. I get over it pretty fast when I realize he has better things to do then watch me dance.
Q. What do you like about your role? I like being close to the plant the whole show. It’s really cool

Q. What lured you to take part in drama productions? My mother was in Little Shop of Horrors when she was in high school and I wanted to follow in her footsteps.
Q. What is your greatest fear when it comes to being in a production and how do you overcome it? My greatest fear is people judging me. I overcome it by knowing in two months nobody will remember.
Q. What do you like about your role? My role is fun because I get to be weird with my friends.
Q. What do you find most fun/challenging about the role? The most challenging thing about my role is probably trying my hardest not to laugh which is also one of the most fun things about my role.

Q. What lured you to take part in drama productions? What made me want to be a part of drama is the beauty of the plays; how they are put together. It’s so magical to watch the show especially when it is all put together and finalized.
Q. What is your greatest fear when it comes to being in a production and how do you overcome it? My greatest fear during performances is forgetting my lines/songs or dances. I overcome my fear by practicing so much that way I won’t forget.
Q. What do you like about your role? I like my role because I can play many characters and be in many scenes.
Q. What do you find most fun/challenging about the role? The most fun is being able to watch other parts rehearse and watch the play come together. It is also fun to do different dances and sing/talk. It’s so fun to work with fun and kind people.

Q. What lured you to take part in drama productions? To help me become famous.
Q. What is your greatest fear when it comes to being in a production and how do you overcome it? I do not get nervous about being in a production.
Q. What do you like about your role? I like being a cameo, being a part of a play and the dancing and singing.
Q. What do you find most fun/challenging about the role? Learning the dance moves is challenging. Practicing is fun and seeing it all come together.

Q. What lured you to take part in drama productions? When I’m older and go into college, I want to get an acting degree so I figured I would start doing drama club to work towards that.
Q. What is your greatest fear when it comes to being in a production and how do you overcome it? Doing something wrong, like a song or dance, but I always recite everything in my head to keep myself confident in what I’m doing.
Q. What do you like about your role? I like being in the ensemble because I’m still in the show. The number of things I need to learn makes it easy to do my other hobbies.
