Elizabeth Jane (Shain) Cerone, 70, passed away at Cover Health in Auburn on Nov. 1, 2020, following a long struggle with Alzheimer’s dementia.

She was born in Harrison on Feb. 25, 1950, to Verdell and Beulah Holden. “To me, Beth,” to family and friends Betty. She attended Bridgton High School, when it closed she went to Oxford Hills where she and friend Peggy went into the Navy. Beth was sent to Long Beach, Calif., and worked in prison doing paperwork to get them in and out of the brig.
When she came back to Maine, she worked at Shawnee Peak, Bridgton Knitting Mill, Chalmers Insurance, Holden Insurance, Fryeburg, for years. Beth worked on VFW breakfasts and suppers and was a member of Ameri-can Legion.

She is survived by son, Lynn (Les) Shain; grandson, Mason Shain; brother, Verdell Holden and sister-in-law Deb Holden of Bridgton; sister, Diane Morrill and David Morrill of Parsonsfield; and nieces, nephew, step-kids and husband, Richard Cerone.

A Celebration of Life will be in Maine when Covid-19 is over. We will have a graveside service May 8, 2021. She would like a gathering of family and friends.
