Don Elliott

PORTLAND — Don V. Elliott, 75, passed away on Friday, July 13, 2018, at home in Portland.

He was born in Portland on Oct. 23, 1942, to the late Robert F. Sr. and Belva P. (Taylor) Elliott of Windham. He was the youngest of five children and grew up in Windham. He married Janice Drew in 1971, and they lived in Westbrook and Gray for a short time, and over 40 years in Portland. He worked at Columbia Market, Cushman Baking, Highway Transport, the American Can Company for almost 10 years, and then at J.J. Nissen Baking Company as a yardman for over 30 years.

He enjoyed driving semis, plowing with his 4-Runner, coffee with friends at McDonald’s, his cats, reading, watching TV (especially the NCIS series), and playing cards.

He was predeceased by his brother, Harold Elliott of Illinois; and his sister, Ella Cyr of New Jersey.

He is survived by his brother, Robert (Janet) Elliott of Raymond; his sister, Stella Mitchell of Windham; his wife, Janice; son, Carl; daughter, Tammy; his two grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at a later date in Windham.
