CASCO — The digital sign that has been malfunctioning since the beginning of the year finally got fixed.
Casco Town Manager Anthony “Tony” Ward said the digital sign was up and running on Tuesday afternoon.
The digital sign improvement will allow the town to put up pictures along with messages. The new sign will have six pixels. By comparison, the Town of Raymond Fire and Rescue Department’s sign, which can be seen from Route 302, has nine pixels.
In related business, the town plans to upgrade another source of communication — its website.
The town hired CivicPlus to revamp the town’s website. The cost will be $14,000 and it will be taken from the Administrative Account.
A representativefrom CivicPlus met with department heads earlier this month to discuss what was needed to offer better online services.
One of the advantages of the proposed changes is it will give the town 100% control over editing, Ward said.
“We are in the initial stages of a website update. A meeting with the company is happening on Thursday,” Ward said.
It will take about four months for the renovation to be complete.
“The board will receive a mock up and give its approval before it goes live,” Ward said.
