David T. Irving

David Irving

NAPLES — David T. Irving, lovingly known as “Grader Dave,” passed away peacefully at his home in Naples, on Jan. 20, 2025, at the age of 82.

Born on February 6, 1942, in Bridgton, David spent his entire life in Naples, where he became a cherished member of the community.

David dedicated over 40 years to P & K Sand & Gravel Inc., where many customers fondly knew him as the kind and reliable man who graded their roads. Before that, he managed his family’s store, Irving’s Market, until its
sale in 1978. He served in the United States Army from 1965 to 1971. A proud and active member of the Naples Fire Department for many years, David was deeply committed to serving his neighbors.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of nearly 55 years, Jackie, who passed this past Labor Day. Together, they raised three children: Devie Irving; Todd Irving; and David Irving and his wife Amy. David was a proud grandfather to Courtney Harper (husband Jim) and their children CJ and Riley; Shayne Irving (fiancée Neisha Bruns); Casey Mishoe and his children MacKenzie and Blakelee; Alice Enyedy (husband Michael) and their children Josie and James; and Garredd Sanborn. His loyal dog Bailey was always by his side.

David will be remembered for his mischievous twinkle, gift of storytelling, and warm hugs. He found joy in family gatherings, summer cookouts, holidays, and watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren play by the beach or hearing about their adventures. In earlier years, he delighted in taking family and friends on boat rides.

Visiting hours will be held at Hall Funeral Home on Quaker Ridge Road in Casco, on Saturday, February 1 from 2 to 4 p.m. A graveside memorial service for the family will take place in the spring.

David’s kindness and humor left an indelible mark on all who knew him. He will be deeply missed. Condolences may be shared at www.hallfuneralhome.net.
