David Richardson

David Richardson passed away at his home in Sandy Creek on Sunday, Oct. 25, 2020, after a hard-fought battle with cancer.

David worked for many years at the Bridgton Knitting Mill. After its closure, he went to work for the Town of Bridgton. He continued to work for the town until his cancer forced him to retire.

David was an avid outsdoorsman. He loved to hunt and fish. In 1981, David became a member of the Biggest Buck in Maine Club by shooting a 240-pound 10-point buck. He spent countless hours teaching his nephews how to hunt and fish, something they will carry with them forever. David also enjoyed going to the horse races and he was even known to occasionally enjoy a nice cold Bud Light. Nothing made him giggle more than when he would scare or play a prank on his siblings or friends.

He had a loving spirit and a gentle soul. He will be missed by many.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Helen Richardson; sister Patricia Athearn; brother Dennis Richardson; and sister Anita Richardson.

He is survived by his son Alex; granddaughter Hailee; sisters Betty Skoglund of Kalispell, Mont., Susan Davis and brother-in-law Doug Davis of Kalispell, Mont., Brenda Richardson of Bridgton, brother-in-law Dennis Athearn of Bridgton. He leaves behind many nephews and nieces and his best friend Linda Goldrup, whom had made David’s life a whole lot brighter.

Condolences can be sent to the Richardson family at 182 Sandy Creek Rd., Bridgton, ME 04009.
