Christopher J. Dyer

NAPLES — Christopher J. Dyer (Nov. 14, 1978 – Feb. 14, 2025) was a lovely man, a talented builder and merrymaker.
As a child, he loved to explore the woods and trails of the Crooked River where his lifelong love of fishing and nature began. Chris was instinctually wise in the
ways of the woods and the world, and eager to share his knowledge and skill with anyone interested
in learning. He would regularly say “Pay attention” or “Watch” (both gently and forcefully — depending on the project) as he made his way through life. He bestowed upon his children the same appreciation of nature and respect for hard work.
Chris loved people and making new friends, he was the life of the party; magnetic, entertaining, sparkly and charismatic. He liked loud music, dancing and letting loose, and was usually the last to leave. Proprietor of CJD Builders, he is known far and wide as an excellent carpenter, he was a perfectionist and a master for details. He was quick with his mind, stronger than most, and good with his hands.
He had a fondness for animals and owned many dogs throughout his life, trained them well, and loved them with all his heart; he would connect with alpacas or cows at the fair, had a special friendship with an ancient snapping turtle at one of his secret spots, and spoke often of adding a baby donkey to the family.
He was beautiful and generous all around and will be missed greatly by his partner Dani Longley and their children Reuben and Carly Dyer (Naples), his mother Jane Watson (Sarasota, Fla.), sisters Dawn Dyer (Christiansted, St. Croix), Mandy Moore (Gorham) and Sydney Gagnon (Parsonsfield), stepbrother Luke Kaeser (Casco), numerous family members and countless friends.
You are invited to his Celebration of Life, Thursday, Feb. 20 from 3-7 p.m. at the American Legion Post 155, 26 Casco Road, Naples, ME 04055.
Arrangements are in the care of the Hall Funeral Home in Casco. www.hallfuneralhome.net.
