Bridgton Police is down a patrol officer.

Officer Sophia Swiatek has left the BPD to join the Freeport Police Department.

“As you know, Sophie’s been a great addition to our department and will be sorely missed,” Bridgton Chief of Police Rick Stillman said. “We will be seeking a replacement, but as the (Criminal Justice) Academy is shut down, who knows when that might happen.”
