Books to go; Casco Public Library offers curbside pick-up starting June 2

Casco Public Library will be offering curbside pickup services beginning Tuesday, June 2 during the following hours: Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Thursday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m.

CPL  will take orders through:

• The online catalog – you may place a hold for books that are on our shelves and/or books that are currently checked out. If a books is checked out, you will be put in line to get it when it comes out of quarantine. You will need your user name and password – please call us if you don’t know it. CPL will call you to confirm order and pick-up time.

• By phone at (207) 627-4541. CPL will be answering the phones during pick-up hours and outside of those hours. If they don’t answer, please leave a message and CPL staff will call you back to confirm order and pick up time.

• By e-mail at cascolibrary@gmail.com. CPL will call to confirm order and pick-up time.

If you have library materials, please return them at your earliest convenience so that they will be available for checkout after quarantining and cleaning. CPL will be taking every precaution to protect patrons. CPL does not have late fines, but would appreciate it if the items came back soon.

Contactless pickup will be achieved through a “take out” window on the parking lot side of the building.

Returns must go in the book drop by the parking lot side or the drop by the door facing the town green.

The building will remain closed to the public, but the CPL password free WIFI is available outside of the building! CPL is also available by phone for assistance.

This is the initial plan, though adjustments may have to be made as CPL staff sees how it all works! Instructions and updates will be posted on the library’s website. The staff and trustees of the Casco Public Library thank you for your patience and understanding as they navigate this process!
