A full Civil War living history encampment took place over the weekend at Narramissic in South Bridgton, featuring Maine’s largest Civil War living history organization the 3rd Maine Infantry.

Joined by members of the 6th Maine Battery of artillery and the 35th Virginia the two-day event included demonstrations, musket and cannon firing, as well as small skirmish scenarios. 

The event was hosted by the Bridgton Historical Society.

Other living history demonstrations included women’s clothing during the war, Civil War medicine and camp cooking. The 3rd Maine has been reenacting the Civil War for decades and offers multiple impressions and opportunities for interaction.
